I can’t wait for this movie! (And maybe even more so, the soundtrack)

100 years of East London style in 100 seconds: Created to promote the grand opening of the Westfield Statford City, London’s largest shopping center!

I’m running a half-marathon in two months! And I’m only posting about it to gain some kind of phantom cyber-accountability that will keep me on track (pun intended) when Project Runway reruns and ice-cream sandwiches are repeatedly calling my name.

The folks over at IDEO have always been genius. Hundreds of companies go to this design and innovation consultancy to get ideas on how to re-vamp their look, brand, or overall consumer experience. I thought this was a cute idea to customize the buttons on Levi’s 501 jeans:

Oh my : )

I love this idea:

‘Plumen’ light bulbs, by Hulger the first ever designer low-energy light bulbs to hit the market (first in the UK, soon in the US)! Their idea was to “create bulbs that people will buy through genuine desire rather than mere obligation,” and I for one, am glad they did! It’s crazy to think that something as established as a light bulb still has a multitude of possibilities for the future.

The name for this blog was mostly a mishap. I was listening the Paul Simon’s song, “Call Me Al” on my way to work one morning and was inspired by the part,

He looks around around
He sees angels in the architecture
Spinning in infinity
He says Amen and Hallelujah

And then even further intrigued when I found out it was a design term. Every project or building needs flexibility, a little wiggle room, creating an “angel in the architecture” as a counterpart to situations in which “the devil is in the details.”

I’m an engineer! I thought, this will be genius. Unfortunately, every one else did too. The name was taken by an art gallery, a naughty website, a book tour, and a few bloggers, one of which broadcasted every detail of her day using phrases like “OMG” and gave up after just TWO DAYS of writing in 2009. The other wasn’t lucky enough to get even that far.

So unfortunately I decided on this next-best, not-quite title.

New blog everyone! I’m blogging, not because I have so many things to say, but because so many other people have nice things to say. And I’d like to put them all in one place. Essentially, I’m good at researching things I think are interesting, and as a student, embarking on marriage, a design career, a healthier lifestyle, and new hobbies in general, maybe other people will find them interesting too.
